Hui-Chu Ying is Associate
Professor at The Myers School of
Art, University of Akron, Ohio.
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, she
received her BA from San Jose
State University and
M.F.A. from West Texas A&M
University.

Hui-Chu Ying's work is the
reflection of her concern with
human suffering resulting from
wars, disasters, disease and loss.
She exploits all the possibilities of
various media by combining
painting, drawing, etching,
screen-printing and collage in her
work.

She creates large-scale
installations using drawings and
prints on paper producing a space
for meditation or communication.

Hui-Chu Ying has been exhibited
nationally and
internationally, including the Akron
Art Museum Frans Masereel
Centrum, Belgium; Nelimarkka Art
Museum, Finland; Foundation Pilar
